O'snap! The hype machine is kicking into full gear boys. Here's some footage showing some of the 64-player gameplay with plenty of vehicles that we all love. Looks like they've slowed down the jets from what we saw in BF2. Enjoy!
The full twelve minute demo from GDC has finally been released for all to see!
On a sidenote, in an interview with GeForce.com, Patrick Bach, the Executive Producer of Battlefield 3 was quoted as saying:
"So for our target of what we want to hit, we are now using the more powerful platform to try and prove what we see gaming being in the future rather than using the lowest common denominator, instead of developing it for the consoles and then just adding higher resolution textures and anti-aliasing for the PC version. We’re do it the other way around, we start with the highest-end technology that we can come up with and then scale it back to the consoles."
"London (17th March, 2011) — Wargaming.net is glad to announce today that its highly-anticipated free-to-play action MMO game World of Tanks is set to launch on 12th April, 2011 in Europe and North America..."
This is it! We are very excited to announce the first details on Battlefield 3 and to kickstart the preorders for the Limited Edition!
Battlefield 3 is the true successor to Battlefield 2. Beyond our signature multiplayer, we have also included a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign – all straight out of the box. As for fan favorite features, how does the return of jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer (on PC) sound? All this built with our powerful new game engine Frostbite 2, which you'll hear and see a lot of in the months leading up to launch. For the full reveal on Battlefield 3, stay tuned for links to our cover stories hitting the gaming press throughout February, starting with Game Informer right now.
Battlefield 3 will release this Fall. You can preorder the Battlefield 3 Limited Edition at www.battlefield.com now. The exact contents of the Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.
I for one am excited to see the words "(on PC)". Seems like somebody is recognizing that PC isnt the same as console. Which can make a world of difference come release time!
